ADI CHUGH

ADI CHUGH

ACTOR

Adi is a quad-lingual, Indian actor who was raised across 4 different continents and now lives between London, LA & Mumbai. His interest for acting began in Germany, at the age of 8 and remained his guilty pleasure while working as a banker and consultant in NYC, London and New Delhi. He eventually surrendered to his love for the art and now works in the profession full time.

Adi was fortunate to mould his craft at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts, and through shorter courses in New York City, Johannesburg, New Delhi and Pennsylvania.

His portfolio of work currently ranges between theatre, film and commercial in the UK, US, EU and India in an array of accents and languages. It has been commended by The Times, The Guardian, The Telegraph UK newspapers, several magazines, theatre critics, as well as showcased on UK television, the BFI's London Film Festival and popular online portals.

The Times on Dubailand
“...Chugh is outstanding as Amar, his energy and optimism trickling away in blood, sweat and despair. Flawed, but affecting.”
SAM MARLOWE
Theatre critic
NEW YORK THEATRE on 5 GUYS CHILLIN'
“...one of the five brave and persuasive performers, is Adi Chugh, who portrays PJ, the one newcomer to the party. PJ is probably the most memorable character.”
Jonathan Mandell ESQUIRE MAGAZINE JOURNALIST
EXEUNT MAGAZINE on Dubailand
“Chugh is hugely lovable as the passionate and imaginative Amar.”
Holly O'Mahony
THEATRE CRITIC
LONDON BOX OFFICE on 5 GUYS CHILLIN'
“Adi Chugh is irresistibly watchable as a shy newcomer who slowly reveals deeper and deeper layers of abuse both of himself and others...”
Phil Willmott AWARD-WINNING DIRECTOR & PLAYWRIGHT
The TELEGRAPH on Dubailand
“...the cast uniformly fit the bill, with poignant work from Adi Chugh as the forlorn Amar, trying to gild his life in the gutter by gazing up the city’s electric skyline of synthetic stars. Recommended.”
DOMINIC CAVENDISH THEATRE CRITIC
THE REVIEWS HUB on NORTHANGER ABBEY
“There are stand out performances from... Adi Chugh as a spurned suitor”
Kris Hallett
THEATRE CRITIC
THE GUARDIAN on DUBAILAND
“...the acting is good. Adi Chugh as the head-in-the-clouds Amar...”
Michael Billington THEATRE CRITIC
THE SCOTTISH SUN on 5 GUYS CHILLIN'
“...features some superb performance from a young cast with a stand out show from newcomer Adi Chugh who plays PJ.”
Phil McHugh
COLUMNIST
LIVE THEATRE UK on DUBAILAND
“Adi Chugh does splendid work as the gentle Amar, the star gazer who dreams and hopes, and eventually flies. The final scene between him and his daughter Lali (a wide-eyed, adorable Aanya Chadha) is gentle and quite touching.”
Stephen Collins
THEATRE CRITIC
EVERYTHING THEATRE on DUBAILAND
“The cast were strong and provided reliable performances; Amar (Adi Chugh) and Clara (Miztli Rose Neville) gave standout ones. Chugh played Amar, a construction worker who sets out to ‘build the future’, with a fine balance of reality and vulnerability, and especially towards the end created some moving moments (there might have been a tear or two).”
Bryony Taylor
THEATRE CRITIC
